The gifts given to Essex MPs such as football tickets, BAFTA seats and shooting trip

Essex MPs have received a number of gifts as a row over donations to top Labour figures rolls on. Some of the gifts given to MPs serving Essex included tickets to Premier League matches and boxing, a day's shooting and admission to concerts.

The gifts given to the Prime Minister have dominated recent headlines. Sir Keir Starmer has received 18 gifts since June last year worth £65,978. That’s more gift entries in the latest Register than any other minister.

Three of the gifts are from Lord Alli: accommodation worth £20,437, work clothing worth £16,200, and multiple pairs of glasses worth £2,485. Another 14 of the Prime Minister’s entries are for tickets to music and sporting events, worth a total of £22,356.

Among some gifts to Richard Holden, the MP for Basildon and Billericay, were two hospitality tickets to Tottenham vs Newcastle United worth £1,000. Nigel Farage, MP for Clacton, was gifted two ringside tickets worth £2,000 for Derek Chisora v Joe Joyce.

James Cleverly, the MP for Braintree and Conservative Party leadership hopeful does not have any gifts on the latest Parliamentary Register of Interests. Kemi Badenoch, the MP for North West Essex and another leadership contender received four tickets with hospitality for the Jingle Bell Ball worth £800 from Global Media.

Sir John Whittingdale, MP for Maldon, received £6,160 worth of gifts - the 15th highest total - in the form of two tickets with hospitality to the BAFTA and BRIT Awards. You can see exactly what your local MP has received using the widget below.
