The 22-year-old model posted a breakup statement confirming they had decided to call time on their two-year relationship, insisting she will “continue to support him as a friend”.
Posting on Twitter, she wrote: “Breakup statements often seem impersonal because there is really no way to put into words what two people experience together over a few years.. not only in the relationship, but in life in general. I’m forever grateful for the love, time, and life lessons that Z and I shared.”
She continued: “I want nothing but the best for him and will continue to support him as a friend that I have immense respect and love for.
“As for the future, whatever’s meant to be will always be. xG.”
Her statement came as Malik unfollowed her and her mother Yolanda Foster on Instagram.
The Pillowtalk singer was the first to confirm news of their split after rumours surfaced on Wednesday, telling fans they had an “incredibly meaningful, loving and fun relationship”.

“I’m grateful to all of our fans for respecting this difficult decision and our privacy at this time, we wish this news could have come from us first. We love you all. xZ.”
The couple started dating in late 2015 before going public with their romance on Instagram. They starred together in Malik’s music video for Pillowtalk and posed for a Vogue shoot before making their red carpet debut at the 2016 Met Gala.
