If you’ve been missing out on baby bump updates from Gigi Hadid, fear not. The model, who is expecting her first child in September with Zayn Malik, has assured fans that she “will be sharing stuff in the future.”

During an Instagram Live for her Gigi Journal Part II with V magazine, Hadid took a moment to talk about her pregnancy - and share the first glimpse of her baby bump.

Since her mother, Yolanda Hadid, first let the news slip in April (followed quickly by a confirmation from Gigi herself), the 25-year-old has been quiet about her pregnancy.

Last week, Hadid took to Twitter to clarify that she was not trying to hide her bump following a headline from British Vogue that claimed the model was trying to “disguise” her pregnancy. And ahead of her discussion about her latest work with V magazine, Hadid took a moment to clear the air and give fans an update.

“I think a lot of people are confused [about] why I’m not sharing more, but I’m pregnant through a pandemic,” Hadid said after thanking her fans for their messages of support. “Obviously, my pregnancy is not the most important thing going on in the world,” she continued, citing the pandemic and Black Lives Matter movement as more pressing issues.

“I have been taking a lot of pictures of my bump and sending it to friends and family, it’s been really cute and exciting - and I’ve been trying to document it well,” she continued, adding, “I will be sharing stuff like that in the future. I’m just not rushed to do it and I feel like right now I just want to experience it.”

Hadid joked about her “pregnancy brain" and also shared that her pregnancy style has mainly consisted of coordinated sets from the brand Holiday. “All I want to wear is loose stuff,” she confessed before pointing to her olive check linen set from Holiday.

“I can wear the drawstring pants below my belly,” she said, noting that her comments weren’t sponsored. “They let my belly air out because it’s just so hot,” she added, later confirming that she does indeed have a bump as she showed it off to her fans.

Hadid, of course, went on to discuss her Gigi Journal Part II with V magazine, which was a follow up to her 2017 Gigi Journal. Available now, Hadid served as a guest editor and the creative director for the magazine’s latest issue.

The magazine features visual and written work from various artists that Hadid hand-selected following more than 20,000 submissions through social media. “The concept was quaran-time,” Hadid said, noting that it was the artists’ choice to create work based on their own time in quarantine or honoring essential workers.

Hadid contributed as well, providing the Journal’s cover art, which was printed with solar-activated and glow-in-the-dark ink so that it changes from white in the shade to a golden yellow in the sun.

The model also shared that a portion of the magazine’s proceeds would be donated in support of the Black Lives Matter movement to the NAACP, ACLU, Campaign Zero and Black Lives Matter organizations. “I’ll also be matching in donation everything that’s raised in the sales,” she said.
