Gilmore Girls' Chad Michael Murray and Scott Patterson reunite for Sullivan's Crossing

Gilmore Girls stars Chad Michael Murray and Scott Patterson are set to reunite for a new drama series.

The pair, who played Tristin DuGray and Luke Danes on The CW show, respectively, have signed on alongside Batwoman's Morgan Kohan to Sullivan's Crossing, which is adapted from the novel by Robyn Carr.

The new show, which is also set to air on The CW, focuses on a star neurosurgeon (played by Kohan) who has it all until her world is turned upside down when her business partner is indicted for fraud, and she's charged with negligence.

She returns from Boston to her home of Sullivan's Crossing, a remote campground run by her estranged father Sully (Patterson), where she also meets a newcomer called Cal Jones (Murray).

“Sullivan’s Crossing is an emotionally rich, authentic family drama that will immediately resonate with audiences thanks to an incredible cast and relatable themes of self-reflection, second chances and the power of community,” said CW’s entertainment president Brad Schwartz (via Deadline).

Virgin River's Roma Roth and Christopher E Perry are set to oversee the series, which will comprise of 10 episodes and looks set to debut later this year.

Confirming the news, Murray said on Instagram: "I'm coming home… For all those who’ve been asking when Sullivan’s Crossing will be playing in the US here you go. I'm excited to head back to where it all started for me. Thank you @thecw and I’ll see y’all soon."

Patterson added that he was "looking forward to it" in a comment on the post, and shared his own post on his Instagram page marking the news.

Sullivan's Crossing will air on The CW.
