Gilmore Girls: Revival - facts, rumors and hopes *Potential SPOILERS*

October did not only bring cloudy weather last year but one of the most exciting pieces of news (since 2007) for a lot of people. Netflix announced the revival of the beloved Gilmore Girls - bringing an early Christmas present to a lot of us. It was not completely unexpected, considering it was in the talks several times during the past - almost -10 years but I think most of us only hoped it would happen. And I don’t know about you guys but I wouldn’t even dare dreaming of a whole season!
As they’ve been feeding us with pictures of the set and news about our favourite characters returning ever since; it’s time to review what we know so far!
The new season is going to be extraordinary – that’s probably an understatement, but I’m talking about the format this time. We are going to get 4, 90-minute-long episodes. In fact, the revival is named Seasons, while the episodes are titled Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. Amy Sherman-Palladino talked about this new arrangement and even hinted a tiny bit about what can we expect the episodes to be like on TVLine.
So, we know that it’s happening, but how is it going to look like? And more importantly how many familiar faces are we going to see?
We can find at least a dozen pictures of the sets – both external and internal – online and fans have already started coming up with ideas and theories about what does it all mean. What do you think?
Now let’s talk about our favourite residents of Stars Hollow! Not so surprisingly, the Gilmore Girls are back, including one of the sassiest on-screen mums, Emily. But almost all the long missed people checked back into the cutest little town. They headed over to Twitter and Instagram to announce their involvement – and I think it is safe to say that they are just as excited as we are! Here are a couple of examples:

TVLine created a slideshow with the returning characters – head over if you’d like! There are also a couple of new faces who’ve joined the cast since October – including Sutton Foster from Amy Sherman-Palladino’s Bunheads (What a treasure that series was! I’m still sad about the cancellation – it was too soon, way too soon!) and Mae Whitman, Lauren Graham’s other on-screen daughter from Parenthood. Here’s the full list with bits of information.
It seems like Stars Hollow is back at its best but there are a few changes to be mentioned. The passing of Edward Herrmann in 2014 means that sadly we won’t see Richard Gilmore again. There is not going to be a comeback from Melissa McCarthy either – hopefully we’ll get an explanation about her absence. Although Hep Alien is definitely back, there are no news about Adam Brody.
Speculations – SPOILERS!
Whenever there’s a new bit of information, fans are going crazy about it. Now that we know that Christopher and Luke are part of the revival, the guessing is unstoppable. What’s Chris’ role in the present? Is that Luke’s car on the driveway in front of Lorelai’s house? What’s going to happen to Rory? Dean, Jess and Logan are all in Stars Hollow – does that mean Rory’s going to choose between them? Is she going to have a new, unknown love interest? Not so long ago a picture taken by a fan made its way to the internet, possibly foreshadowing a wedding. Whose could it be? Let me know about your hopes and dreams and expectations!
