Gino D’Acampo has denied feuding with Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sirieix was the reason he quit their Road Trip show.

The Italian chef announced in March he was leaving their ITV show Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip, sparking speculation of a rift between him and his co-stars.

D'Acampo, 46, told Good Morning Britain: "The main [issue] was about the dates, trying to get the dates together. We tried and then we got the date and then they got cancelled.

"And then I thought, 'I don’t want to do this any more.' It got too stressful."

Susanna Reid then asked the This Morning cook if it was true fellow celebrity chef Ramsay "winds you up".

D'Acampo replied: "No. He’s a good guy."

He also added that the show was not "100 per cent over" if the three TV stars could find a gap in their schedules in future.

The Italian TV presenter, the 56-year-old Michelin-starred chef and 51-year-old French Maître d' Sirieix began their road trip series in 2018 and over three seasons have travelled the world together sampling local cultures and cuisines.

D'Acampo said in March on social media: "Last week I decided not to film any more Gordon, Gino and Fred Road trips. The reason is very simple – nothing to do with Gordon or Fred, the friendship is very strong.

"It's just because we can't get the dates together and sometimes when we do get the dates together sometimes they get changed and it causes a lot of problems for me because I have other stuff that I have to do. Personal problems as well because when I have to change things with my family it is very complicated and also because [of] contracts."

D’Acampo - famous for cooking a rat on I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2009 - lives with his wife of 21 years Jessica and their three children.

He added: "Because contracts start to become very complicated and very stressful, I personally value the friendship with Gordon and Fred so much that I would rather the friendship than arguments with the contract.

"So I have decided not to do it anymore because I want to be friends with the boys for many, many years ahead."
