A three-year-old girl has died after being hit by a car in Birmingham.

The toddler was left seriously injured after the car she was in hit a fence and rolled on Wednesday evening.

She was taken to hospital but tragically died on Thursday.

A 22-year-old woman was arrested at the time on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and later released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Police are continuing to ask anyone who was in the Church Street area at around 10.30pm on Wednesday to come forward with any information or dash cam footage.

A police spokesperson said: “We’d ask people not to speculate and instead come to us with any information.”
