Girl, 9, in hospital after being attacked by dog at Scots park

A nine-year-old girl has been rushed to hospital after being attacked by a dog in a park in Perth.

Emergency services were called to Tulloch Park after the alarm was raised at around 5.40pm on Friday. Ambulance crews attended and a nine-year-old girl was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment.

An eight-year-old girl who was also attacked by the dog was injured but did not require medical treatment. The animal has since been removed to kennels and a 63-year-old man has been reported in connection with dangerous dog offences.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.40pm on Friday, May 31, 2024, we were called to a report of a dog attacking two girls in the Tulloch Park area of Perth. A nine-year-old girl was taken to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, for treatment.

“An eight-year-old was injured but did not require medical treatment. The dog has been removed to kennels. A 63-year-old man will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with dangerous dog offences.”
