Louis Walsh says that Girls Aloud never liked each other and that Nadine Coyle was the only ‘real singer’ in the band.

The X Factor judge claims that none of the band, formed on Pop Stars: The Rivals back in 2002, got on and rather faked their friendships for the cameras.

After being asked about claims he didn’t give the band enough time when he was their manager during an appearance on Radio 2, the 62-year-old responded:

“I didn’t give them a lot of my time but they didn’t give me time and they didn’t even like each other!”

“It was problems from day one there. I contacted them as much as I could but they didn’t like each other.”

Since the band announced they were splitting in 2013 a clear divide did emerge between the five girls. While Kimberley, Nicola and Cheryl are often seen socializing it’s true that Sarah and Nadine have distanced themselves from their former bandmates.

Louis adds that out of the five of them the only person to have any true singing talent was Nadine.

"It was never going to work because I said Nadine was the best singer and she was. She was the voice of Girls Aloud.”

He then took a very obvious dig at Cheryl by saying that Nadine could have had a more successful solo career ‘if only she had married a footballer’:

“She should have married the footballer. Look at Victoria Beckham, it worked for her. And Louise [Redknapp]… and wasn’t Cheryl married to a footballer?” he rather cuttingly added.
