Bradley Walsh brings Gladiators to standstill after 'unnecessary' behaviour on BBC show
Bradley Walsh brought Gladiators to a brief pause on Saturday, as he accused one of the show's stars of 'unnecessary' behaviour towards one of the contestants.
For the second year in a row, The Chase presenter Bradley has teamed up with son Barney to host the BBC show, which was a huge hit with viewers and a big ratings winner when it launched last year, 30 years after the original version pulled in millions and millions of viewers to ITV.
The new series launch wasn't without its talking points, with Barney responsible for the first, when he announced there would be new Gladiators joining the ranks for 2025, as well as new games being introduced. Then came the sad news that fan favourite, Nitro would be ruled out of the whole series, having injured his knee during training, with the injury setbacks continuing when contender Scott, already behind rival Nathan after the first two challenges, then dislocated his finger as he faltered on the wall.

After being treated backstage, Scott was able to continue on in the contest, only to then be sent flying by one of the Gladiators in Powerball and crashing into the ball bin. Once the whistle signalled the end of the round, Bradley gathered the Gladiators involved for a chat and demanded to know who was responsible for 'smashing' Scott into the bin, as it became clear that Phantom was the culprit
As a replay of the collision then played out on screen, Bradley shouted: "Wow, that's unnecessary!" prompting Phantom to try and defend himself, as he replied: "He's a good sport, but he tried to stiff arm me a few times and you can't stiff arm the Phantom!" and Bradley added: "This is not a game for the fainthearted!"
