A flight bound for Glasgow Airport was diverted to Manchester as high winds from Storm Éowyn impeded its landing.

The Buzz airline flight from Kraków was due to land at Glasgow Airport at 7.50am on Friday (January 24), but was left circling the city as high winds batter Glasgow. The flight circled Wishaw at 9,000ft before slowing and coming in to land at Glasgow Airport around 8am, according to data from Flight Radar 24.

The Boeing 737-8-200 MAX descended to 3,000ft and slowed to around 150mph as it approached the runway, before accelerating and climbing as the pilot went around, circling Paisley and Cumbernauld before flying to Manchester Airport in Cheshire, landing shortly before 9am.
