Glasgow barbers could be turned into new Finnieston Moroccan restaurant
A restaurant specialising in Moroccan cuisine could open in Finnieston under new plans.
Glasgow City Council has received an application which requests permission to turn a barbershop at 1090 Argyle Street into a restaurant.
The firm behind the proposal, Morocco Tagine, wants to introduce an “additional dining option” to the Finnieston area.

Plans submitted on behalf of the company state: “Over the last 10 years or so and due in large measure to the proximity of the Hydro venues, the area has seen a renaissance of its fortunes.
“From being relatively run down, to a major wining and dining destination, with countless bars, diners, cafes and restaurants as well as small independent retailers.”

The application describes the area as “the premier ‘must go’ area for socialising in the west end, and is popular with residents and visitors alike”.
The development would see the “property transformed into a restaurant specialising in Moroccan cuisine”.
If approved, it is expected the operating hours would be Sunday to Thursday from 10am to 11pm and Friday and Saturday from 10am to midnight.
