Glasgow bin lorry ploughs through garden fence as police race to scene
A Glasgow City Council bin lorry has been recovered from the garden of a tenement after smashing through a fence.
Officers from Police Scotland raced to the incident on Ardbeg Street in the Govanhill area of the city at around 1.35pm on Tuesday, October 1. There were no reported injuries following the incident.
The council lorry has since been recovered from the scene. Images show the waste vehicle sitting close to the tenement wall after it is believed the brakes failed while traveling along Calder Street.

A Glasgow City Council spokesman said: "Police are investigating the incident and it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time."
A Police Scotland spokesperson added: "Around 1.35pm on Tuesday, 1 October, 2024, we were called to report of a road crash involving a bin lorry and a fence in Ardbeg Street, Glasgow. Officers attended and there were no reports of injuries. The vehicle has been recovered."
