Glasgow bus passengers stunned into silence as woman breaks out in incredible song
Passengers on a Glasgow bus were left stunned after a woman decided to brighten up their day with an incredible song.
Michelle Hilling captured the heart-warming moment on the number six bus from the city to East Kilbride on Friday, November 1.
In the video, the lady can be seen singing legendary Native Hawaiian musician Israel Kaʻanoʻi Kamakawiwoʻole's Over the Rainbow. Michelle spoke to Glasgow Live about the moment which left passengers smiling, she said: "She definitely brightened up the bus journey on a cold dark Friday night.

"She sang a few songs. The first song had the bus fall quiet as everyone could only listen and smile. I took a video to show family and friends as its not often you see something on Glasgow buses that makes you smile."
The popular song has been covered by musical legends from around the world, including Scotland's very own Susan Boyle. Other musicians who have turned their hand to the catch tune are Judy Garland, Eva Cassidy, Eric Clapton and Ella Fitzgerald.
The video, which was updated to TikTok, has already gained over 100,000 views and hundreds of comments from Glaswegians.
One comment, which reported to be from the nephew of the woman, identified her as Irene. Another who said they knew the woman, said: "Love listening to her. She sings in a pub. I’ve been in a few times. Lovely woman some voice on her."
Many Glaswegians were left impressed by the performance, with one person writing: "Wish everyone was like this, the world would be a better place."
A second added: "People make Glasgow, always"
A third said: "what a voice. You sing your wee heart out Mrs."
For others the song brought back memories from their childhood, with one person writing: "I remember my elders years ago singing like that at parties it was the best."
A second added: "Oh this brings back memories of my aunties singing at family get togethers...brilliant."
