Glasgow city centre diner shuts suddenly as note appears on window
A Glasgow city centre diner has shut suddenly with a note announcing the closure being pictured on the window of the business.
Philpotts, on Bothwell Street, appears to have shut its doors for good on Friday, November 8. The chain, which has nine branches across the UK, is best known for serving sandwiches, breakfast items and baked goods.
The cause of the closure is not yet known, however, it is understood both the Glasgow and Edinburgh branches are no longer operating. A note posted on the window of the shop, read: "Unfortunately, this store will be closing permanently on Friday, November 8.

"We would like to thank you all for the custom over the years."
A further statement on the brand's website added: "Our Glasgow and Edinburgh stores are now permanently closed, sorry for any inconvenience."
It is currently unclear how many jobs will be lost due to the closures.
Philpotts has branches in Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Birmingham and Bristol.
