Glasgow city centre sealed off after man seriously injured in 'disturbance'

A busy street in Glasgow city centre has been sealed off after a man was left seriously injured in a 'disturbance' during the early hours.

Emergency services rushed to the incident on Buchanan Street around 5am on Saturday morning. A 37-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment of serious injuries.

The area is understood to be partially taped off while police carry out "extensive enquiries". The force is appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 5am on Saturday, 16 November, 2024, we were called to a report of a disturbance on Buchanan Street, Glasgow. Emergency services attended and a 37-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment to serious injuries.

"Extensive enquiries are ongoing.

"Anyone with any information should contact police on 101, quoting incident 0641 of Saturday, 16 November, 2024."
