Glasgow coffee specialists Spitfire Espresso announce west end opening date

An independent cafe in the Merchant City which recently announced plans to open a second branch in the west end, has now confirmed it'll open next month.

Speciality coffee shop Spitfire Espresso, has now confirmed its second spot on Great Western Road will open in December.

The new west end venue will join the original spot based in the Merchant City on the corner of Candleriggs and Ingram Street, and will also serve coffee and breakfasts, as well as a selection of sandwiches and cakes.

Taking to instagram, they posted: "Your favourite coffee is coming to the West End."

A sign has gone up for the new branch with preparation well underway to get it ready for opening.

The team have yet to confirm whether the new west end coffee shop will also house a La Marzocco FB70, their famous pillar box red coffeee machine that's bean (boom boom) at the centre of their Merchant City spot for nearly a decade providing their now famous espressos.

They also have a Spitfire Coffee Roastery on Osborne Street.

The new Spitfire Espresso will open at 387 Great Western Road.
