Glasgow cops step up patrols after 'targeted' shooting as man in hospital

Police in Glasgow are increasing patrols in Govan after a 'targeted' firearm incident at a property.

Emergency services were called to Drumoyne Road at around 4pm on Friday, October 25, after the alarm was raised. A 52-year-old man was rushed to hospital where his injury is described as non life-threatening. His condition is understood to be stable.

Detectives probing the incident believe the incident was 'targeted' and do not believe there are any wider risks to the public. However, they have said that officers are conducting door-to-door enquires and checking CCTV to stablish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Extra patrols are also being conducted in the area and anyone with information is being asked to get in touch and assist with the investigation.

Chief Inspector Jordan Dickson said: “We believe this was a targeted incident and there is not thought to be any wider risk to the public. Officers are carrying out extensive enquiries, including door-to-door and CCTV work. Extra patrols are also being carried out.
