Glasgow homeless night shelter in 'desperate' need for volunteers this winter
A homelessness charity in Glasgow says it is in "desperate need" for volunteers to help run its night shelter.
The team at Homeless Project Scotland (HPS) have launched an urgent appeal calling for support. The night shelter provides a warm refuge for people living out on the streets as well as vulnerable people.
However, more hands are needed on deck in order to provide a "safe and welcoming space" for those who need it most.

In an appeal on social media, HPS wrote: "Our night shelter is in desperate need of volunteers to help support those in our community who are experiencing homelessness. Your time and energy can make a huge difference in providing a safe and welcoming space for those in need.
"If you can spare time to lend a helping hand, please reach out to us. Together, we can make a positive impact and support those who need it most. Please consider sharing this post to help spread the word. Thank you for your support and generosity."
We previously reported how record numbers of people are sleeping rough on Glasgow's streets as numbers rise 28 per cent in just six weeks. The figures, described as 'horrific' by campaigners, come as sub-zero temperatures bite the city.
