Glasgow Japanese restaurant closing as Belter Bento shuts east end doors for good
A popular Japanese street food eatery on Duke Street in the east end has taken to social media to say that with a 'heavy heart' it is set to close permanently.
Belter Bento, which first opened back in April last year, said it had been due to close on October 5 but has now sadly brought this forward.
Found close to Glasgow Kelvin College, the wee takeaway offered a modern take on traditional Japanese cuisine, becoming popular for its sushi, chicken katsu curry, prawn tempura and ramen and udon noodles.
They were also popular with vegetarian and vegan customers, thanks to dishes like their tofu katsu curry, avocado rolls and vegetable gyozas.

Taking to Facebook to reveal the news, the post read: "It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of Belter Bento.
"While our chef is still recovering, we had planned to close permanently on the 5th of October. Given the circumstances, we've decided to expedite this closure.
"We want to thank all of you for your incredible support over the years. It's been an amazing journey, and we're so grateful for the memories we've made together.
"We'll miss seeing your smiling faces and hearing your laughter. Thank you for being a part of our story."
