The Glasgow restaurants crowned among nation's best at prestigious 'Curry Oscars'
An awards ceremony known as Scotland's 'Curry Oscars' took place in Glasgow this week (September 9), naming the best restaurants from around the country.
The Spice Awards unveiled their winners on Monday night at the Doubletree by Hilton, with finalists from all over Scotland in attendance.
Dished out annually, there is a strict set of judging criteria in place carried out on secret visits after a nomination process, with the awards highly respected within the industry.
Winners from in and around Glasgow included the likes of Himalayan Dine in Shawlands, which took home Best South East Asian Takeaway, and Sky Dragon in Drumchapel which claimed Best East Asian Takeaway.

The prestigious Scottish Curry Championships are a separate trophy, which was won by Bantawala by Masala Twist, with Charcoals and Madras Café all Highly Recommended.
Meanwhile further out, Mekong in East Kilbride was named Best East Asian Restaurant, Polski Kebab in Motherwell was named Best Kebab House, Lamego's in Blantyre Best Piri Piri and Annaya's in Balloch was the winner of the Peoples' Choice Award.
The Malletsheugh, Newton Mearns, was a big winner with no less than two awards – Best Family Business as well as Best Newcomer,
Organised by Paramount Creative, who stage events honouring different industries throughout the year, organiser Warren Paul said: “We are delighted to be able to continue to raise the profile of Asian cuisine in Scotland. Congratulations to all the winners of this year’s Spice Awards”.
