The Glasgow restaurants named in the top 100 across the UK for 2025
Glasgow is well-known for it's amazing and varied food and drink scene, and now, two restaurants have been ranked in the top 100 across the UK.
Square Meal uses its top 100 list to celebrate long-standing culinary icons and highlight emerging talents and takes many months of judging throughout the year.
Taking the place as Glasgow's best ranked eatery on the prestigious list is Big Counter on Victoria Road. Ranked as the 56th best in the UK and was praised for its "unfussy comfort food and old school favourites".

The review reads: "Described as a dinner house, Big Counter dishes out unfussy comfort food and old-school favourites.
"The menu is subject to daily change but dishes frequently feature chef John Dawson and Claire Johnston’s ‘holy trinity’: butter, cream, and cheese."
Just a bit further down on the list was west end restaurant Cail Bruich. The fine dinning Michelin Star restaurant on Great Western Road has received many awards and sits nicely at 70th place.
The Square Meal team said: "With a spectacular chef’s table for two, plus a luxurious, contemporary main dining room, Cail Bruich is a special occasion spot worth saving up for.
"Here you’ll be treated to Lorna McNee’s unique flair for elevating the best of Scottish produce."
There were entries across Scotland with Lyla in Edinburgh taking the 11th spot, and the Fish Shop Ballater, in Aberdeenshire, coming 60th.
