If you've headed down Holmlea Road in the Southside recently you might have spotted a stylish new green fronted cafe that has opened.

The Ceylon Tea Bar is Cathcart's latest addition to the food and drink scene in the area, and has take over the long vacant site that used to house a local cafe.

Taking to Instagram, the new owners posted: "We’re not just opening a cafe; we’re crafting an experience. Dive into a world where every sip tells a story and every bite is a journey.

"Discover the rich culinary heritage of Sri Lanka at our cafe where we serve high-quality Ceylon tea and food that will transport your taste buds to paradise."

They added that they want to welcome people to a place where "tradition meets innovation", with a variety of Ceylon Teas from Sri Lanka on offer (as you'd expect), there is also traditional dishes from the country to try.

Expect smaller plates like mutton rolls, crispy fish cutlets and Gothamba Roti (traditional Sri Lankan bread), while curries like Deviled pork and Wattaka (roasted spiced butternut) are also on offer.

And those looking for a coffee will also find what they are looking at the new spot, while the owners say the Sri Lankan cookies (ganakatha) have also been proving very popular.

Locals have already been raving about not only the tea, but also some of the Sri Lankan curries you can enjoy there too, we can't wait to try it out.

Ceylon Tea Bar has now opened at 172 Holmlea Road
