Glasgow street remains closed after man stabbed outside bookmaker

A man has been rushed to hospital after he was stabbed outside a bookmakers on a Glasgow street yesterday (May 18).

Emergency services rushed to Saracen Street in Possilpark at around 5pm after they received reports of an incident A 27-year-old man was then blue-lighted to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after the stabbing.

The area remains closed off by officers as Investigators carry out their enquiries. Footage posted online of the scene appears to show an individual covered in blood lying near a bookmaker.

The condition of the individual is not yet known.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "An investigation is under way after a man was stabbed in Saracen Street, Glasgow. Officers were made aware of the incident around 5pm on Saturday, May 18.

"Emergency services attended and the 27-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Saracen Street remains closed and enquiries are ongoing.”
