A much-loved Glasgow takeaway that suddenly closed in March leaving fans gutted has now been put on the market.

The brilliantly named Melton Johns was hugely popular both with local food fans as well as those online, and even went viral thanks to its cracking-sounding salt and chilli fry-up.

The cafe and dessert parlour, which was located on Govan Road, hit the headlines after it was revealed comedian Kevin Bridges was a huge fan but sadly closed in spring.

It has now been brought to the market by property agent Kirkstone, with a rent of £24,000 per year.

The team say it is located on a busy thoroughfare and is a class 3 hot food premises, while being a fully fitted dessert parlour.

Known for its fun-filled menu, the eatery went viral thanks to its salt and chilli fry-up, which featured a full breakfast including potato scones, bacon, sausages, black pudding and egg, all cooked in that famous Chinese takeaway style.
