Glasgow's bar scene is packed with incredible spots and is rightly revered around the UK for a great night out.

From top locals and welcoming pubs, to the coolest cocktail bars, and the best venues for a dram of whisky or two, there are so many worth shouting about. And that's were you, our readers come in, as you've taken the time to tell us those bars that deserved to be named in our much-loved pubs' guide - the ultimate list of pubs and bars that everyone should try when they come to our fair city.

So without further ado, here are the best-loved pubs and bars from around Glasgow that our readers think are the best.

Tolbooth Bar, Saltmarket

The popular bar in the Saltmarket was praised for its friendly staff and great atmosphere, as well as its great value.

One fan wrote: "The tollbooth bar not only serves the best pint of Guinness but has the best staff and prices are very reasonable."

The Piper Whisky Bar, George Square

This much-loved bar has just added to its appeal with the launch of its brand-new whisky room, with a fan writing: "Lovely Bar, friendly staff, lots of drams, live music and great food served."

This new bar has just opened at the former Zinfandel spot on Nithsdale Road and is already winning people over with its epic pizzas.

As one happy regular writes, they love it "because the whole family can go there, including the dog."

The Renfield bar, Renfield Street

Another city centre institution, the Renfield Bar got praise thanks to its "class staff" and the Karaoke which is a "great laugh".

"These kinds of pubs are closing down at a frightening rate but this wee pub will be around for a long time with great staff and great welcome always," gushed one punter.

Imperial Bar, Howard Street

This traditional pub was highlighted thanks to its old school style, and having "loads of character" and "friendly locals".

Deoch an Dorus, Partick

A west-end institution, the Deoch an Dorus (named for the Gaelic term for the last drink before home) was popular with voters.

Fans loved the fact it's family-owned, the staff are friendly that there is always great banter on offer.

Blackfriars, Merchant City

Found on Bell Street in the Merchant City, this popular bar maintains a strong following, with one regular writing: "A nice selection of beers and spirits, with the comedy club downstairs, great welcoming staff behind the bar with a good grouping of all ages , located in a great area of the city with easy walking access."

Smoking Fox, City Centre

The Sunday Mail Pub of the Year was selected by quite a few of the city's drinkers, making it easy to see why it recently won this top award.

One person posted: "There is a lovely atmosphere in the pub with great staff who are always friendly and helpful. They also have a good food offering and a great range of drinks to suit all tastes."

Tennents Bar, Byres Road

One of the most famous bars on Byres Road, it would have been weird to create a list without it featuring.

Fans loved its friendly staff and great food, with one person who describes herself as a "female OAP, writing: "Customers are polite and friendly. I go in with my crossword puzzle and am very comfortable sitting alone with a G&T and a crossword."

The Anchor Bar, Parkhead

Heading east of the city centre, one city drinker was keen to give this local pub the credit that its due.

"It has been there for many a year and family generations have drank in it for years," they posted. "Staff are fantastic and look after their customers and have entertainment on every week. Drinks are the cheapest around and that keeps the customers happy too. It’s a fun welcoming clean happy establishment.

Always a massive draw, the Clutha Bar was singled out for its "awesome staff, amazing atmosphere and the fact it "always has live music", which one fan stated you "can't get better than that".

Widely considered to be one of Glasgow's most famous pubs, thanks to its record-breaking bar length and iconic Karaoke, and loads of people picked it out as their favourite.

The Imperial Bar, Howard Street

The person who nominated this city centre stalwart proudly stated they'd picked it because "it's the last of the proper pubs in the Glasgow city centre".

The Lismore, Partick

If you're in Partick for a pint, chances are you might be heading to this pub; named for one of the country's famous islands off the west coast, its famous for its excellent selection of whiskies.

One lover of the Lismore, posted: "It’s a traditional pub with a good selection of beers and whiskies. No food is served and there is seldom any piped music.

"There is, however, live music to enjoy. In my experience, the TVs have never been switched on. There is also a large outside area to enjoy in good weather (I wish!). The staff are friendly and efficient and help to maintain the relaxed atmosphere in the pub."

The Peel Bar, Drumchapel

This community pub was praised for its staff, its Karaoke and the fact it does so much for the local area.

The Park Bar, Argyle Street

The Argyle Street spot is famed for its Hebridean welcome, and the fans who highlighted it loved it for its incredible atmosphere.

Offering one of the "best whisky ranges in the world," according to one fan, the Pot Still was also praised for its staff and the epic service it offers. Oh, and one person said everybody should try their pies "at least once".

The Station Bar, Cowcaddens

"This is the most welcoming pub I’ve ever been in," exclaimed one visitor. Who added: "Excellent lunch menu and no matter whether it’s lunchtime, pre or apres theatre, the staff are always friendly. Oh, and the prices are pretty friendly too!"

The Whistler on the Green

Having gained a bit of a resurgence in recent times thanks to catering for fans of gigs on the Green and festivals like TRNSMT, TWOTG has also upped its game in the food stakes and it's not gone unnoticed.

"It always has great music playing from the owner who really knows his music," stated one fan. "The food is quality grub not your average pub meals. It has a great old style vibe."

Viceroy bar, Kinning park

Well known to anyone who has done the famous Sub Crawl, the Viceroy is much-loved by regulars and visitors alike.

And don't just take our word for it, the person who nominated it wrote: "Great beer garden and a vast selection of beers, spirits and slush drinks, the staff are fantastic too."

Other popular entries included in the overall list were Tingle on Mitchell Street, The Croft, The Glen Head Social Club in Duntocher, Bloc on Bath Street, the Heilan Jessie in the Gallowgate, new Country bar Maggie's Rock and Rodeo, the famed Three Judges, the ever popular Oran Mor, Malones and Munns in Maryhill.
