Fans of Mexican food are in for a treat this weekend as west end taco specialists Rafa's make the move east for a special pop-up at the Barras this weekend.

If you haven't heard of them, the Mexican street food faves are based in the Hidden Lane in Finnieston where their creations regularly sell out daily and their small vibrant taqueria is considered to be one of the city's true hidden gems.

Keen to let new fans try out their wares, the team are bringing their authentic Mexican cuisine to the Hutch at the London Road market this Saturday (June 1) and Sunday (June 2) for a special pop-up.

Posting on Instagram the Barras team wrote: "Hola Amigos. This weekend we have a huge treat for you. The talented team from Rafa's is coming to the Hutch at Barras Market.

"If you know Rafa's, you will know that it sells out fast! They work on a first-come, first-served basis, and when it's gone, it's gone. So, now is your chance!! Get down early this weekend (June 1st & 2nd) and experience a bit of Mexico in the Barras."

They offered a tantalising glimpse at the menu which features carnitas (slow-roasted pork shoulder), barbacoa (tender beef cheek), aubergine "birria" (grilled eggplant in a savoury broth) and king prawn ceviche

They added: "And for dessert, you won't want to miss their famous Tres Leches Cake and traditional Flan."

We can't wait to try out some of their specials this weekend.
