Glasgow's Queens Park locked down following report of two males with knives

An area of a Glasgow southside park was locked down following reports of two males with knives.

Emergency Services rushed to Queens Park at around 7.05pm on Saturday, September 21, after the alarm was raised. Officers carried out a search of the area but no trace of the males was found.

It is understood there were no reported injuries. Enquires are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

We previously reported that an eyewitness stated the area surrounding the pond has been cordoned off by police.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.05pm on Saturday, 21 September, 2024, we were called to a report of two males with knives in Queens Park, Glasgow.

“Officers attended and carried out a search of the area however there was no trace of the males. There were no reports of injuries and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.”
