A former Glee guest star has accused Lea Michele of making their experience on the series a "living hell", calling her on-set actions "traumatic".

Samantha Ware, who appeared in season six of Glee as Jane Hayward, made the comments on Twitter, after Lea voiced her support for the Black Lives Matter movement following the death of George Floyd.

"George Floyd did not deserve this. This was not an isolated incident and it must end," Lea tweeted, prompting Samantha to tell fans that her behind-the-scenes relationship with the actress caused her to "question a career in Hollywood".

As well as claiming that Lea had threatened to "shit in [her] wig", Samantha said the actress, who played Rachel Berry for Glee's six seasons, also used "micro-aggressions" against her.

Micro-aggressions are commonly understood as hostile or derogatory incremental behaviours towards another person, and can often be considered racist.

In a reply to Lea's initial tweet, Samantha wrote: "LMAO REMEMBER WHEN YOU MADE MY FIRST TELEVISON GIG A LIVING HELL?!?! CAUSE ILL NEVER FORGET.

"I BELIEVE YOU TOLD EVERYONE THAT IF [YOU] HAD THE OPPORTUNITY YOU WOULD 'SHIT IN MY WIG!' AMONGST OTHER TRAUMATIC MICROAGRESSIONS THAT MADE ME QUESTION A CAREER IN HOLLYWOOD..."

Digital Spy has reached out to a representative for Lea Michele for comment.

11 years after it first aired, Glee's creator Ryan Murphy recently admitted that he's considering a remake of the musical comedy's first ever episode – sharing with fans how he'd change the plot if he ever got the chance for a do-over.
