Glee star Amber Riley has paid a touching tribute to her late co-star Naya Rivera with a televised performance on last night's (August 27) Jimmy Kimmel Live!
The star, who played Mercedes on the musical comedy show, is going under the moniker Riley and sang the song 'A Moment' from her upcoming EP release.
Guest host Lil Rel Howery introduced the performance, stating: "Not too long ago, we both lost a really amazing friend in a tragic accident and we both will miss her forever. She’s here to perform a tribute to our good friend, Naya Rivera."
As Riley performed the song, photos of the late star appeared behind her, with her turning to look at her friend as the song finished.
"I didn’t make it 15 seconds before I was a puddle. I love you Naya. RIP Angel," she tweeted afterwards.
Rivera tragically died from drowning after she and her son, 4-year-old Josey, went out on a boat trip on Lake Piru in California last month. She was declared missing for several days before her body was found, and examiners determined that drugs or alcohol did not play any part in her death.
Her family issued a statement after her body was found in which they said they were "so grateful for the outpouring of love and prayers for Naya, Josey and our family over the past week.
"While we grieve the loss of our beautiful legend, we are blessed to honour her everlasting legacy and magnetic spirit. Naya was an amazing talent, but was an even greater person, mother, daughter and sister."
