'The Glow of Two Distant Worlds': Jupiter and Saturn Seen Above Kilauea Crater

Jupiter and Saturn were spotted on Tuesday, December 22, over the summit of Kilauea volcano in Hawaii.

The ‘great conjunction’ was captured by a member of the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park team above the Halemaʻumaʻu crater, with smoke and steam also seen rising from its lava lake.
