Good Morning Britain's Piers Morgan has wished Meghan Markle "good luck" with her fight for feminism on today's show (May 22).

Appearing on GMB to discuss Markle's feminism goals were columnist Ella Whelan and The Women's Equality Party leader Sophie Walker.

The heated discussion came after the newly-appointed Duchess of Sussex was given the blessing of Kensington Palace to fight for feminism.

As Piers and Susanna asked whether it's right for Meghan to champion feminist causes in her new position, Piers wasn't convinced, though wished her "good luck", nonetheless.

Some viewers agreed with Piers, who argued that Meghan can't really be a feminist now that she's part of the royal family...

One wrote: "Couldn't agree more with @piersmorgan on #goodmorningbritain about Meghan Markle, you can't be a feminist and a preacher of equality when you've married a rich prince (using tax payers money) and given up your job FOR A MAN."

Others slammed Piers and his views, obviously:

"Piers morgan thinking hes such an expert on feminism im laughing," one wrote.

Yesterday's GMB (May 21) saw Piers lashing out at both Beckhams – calling Victoria a "sourpuss". and slamming David for chewing gum at the royal wedding.

According to Piers, David will never get a knighthood if he carries on chewing gum in public, with Piers labelling it inappropriate.

"In the old days you'd be taken to the tower for that kind of disrespect," he added.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6.30am on ITV.
