GMB guest tells Piers "screw you" in fiery interview
Good Morning Britain held a heated debate today (July 18), as Piers Morgan clashed with Republican Joe Walsh.
Walsh had been duped alongside other Republican politicians by Sacha Baron Cohen into saying that young children should be armed with guns. The former Illinois congressman insisted that he did not mean what he said, but Piers was adamant he was lying.
"I don't think people say things like this, which are so unbelievably stupid and dangerous and inflammatory unless they mean it," Piers said.
"Every one of those congressmen that said we should arm 4-year-olds – you, Piers Morgan, believe they all believe that?" Walsh replied.
Piers replied: "I absolutely believe they believe it."
Walsh sarcastically clapped in response, and the interview became fiery as the pair began talking over each other.
"Oh god, you are like a god, man. I want to kiss your feet, Piers Morgan," Walsh mocked. "You've never screwed up on camera! You're amazing to me. You've never made a mistake. That's awesome."
"No, no," Piers said. "I've made mistakes. That wasn't a mistake, though, was it? You read a script in which you endorsed arming children. You ended up saying, 'Happy shooting, kids'. How do you say 'Happy shooting, kids' without meaning it, Joe?"
"How many times do you want me to apologise for that?" Walsh hit back. "You don't believe me? Why did you have me on, Piers, when you weren't going to believe a word I said?"

Piers said: "I make mistakes. I make a lot of mistakes, but what I don't do is say things like this and then pretend I don't mean them. You meant every word of that. That's why you said it."
"Piers, screw you," Walsh responded. "Piers, you don't know what's in my head. I'm telling you, you don't know what's in my head."
"I know what's in your head. You want to arm 4-year-olds," Piers shot back.
"You won't believe me!" Walsh said.
Reaction on social media was mixed. While some said Piers was right to lay into Walsh, others questioned why he did not reserve the same treatment for Donald Trump when he interviewed him recently.
#gmb Piers Morgan no problem with attacking guests, not letting them speak unless their name is Donald Trump?! Selective attacking , I wonder why. Funny that.

Wondering if Piers is going off on him like this to deflect from having to attack Trump over his comments this morning #GMB

Say what you want about @piersmorgan & I don’t always agree with him but his passionate shaming of @WalshFreedom for his utterly moronic video praising the arming of 4 year old children was brilliant & 100% justified. #GMB
