Good Morning Britain star Kate Garraway has said The Wire and Pride actor Dominic West has called her up to apologise after he caused controversy with his comments regarding Donald Trump last week.
When the ITV show discussed the United States President stating that he and his wife Melania had contracted coronavirus (COVID-19), the star said he was "jumping for joy".
On today's (October 5) show, Piers Morgan explained that it wasn't right to say something like that, regardless of how they are as a person, especially when one of the presenters on the show has a husband who is still in hospital because of the virus.

Kate explained today that Dominic did say sorry to her, that he didn't know about Derek Draper's condition, and that she feels he was more "jumping for joy" that contracting the virus might cause Trump to change his attitude, rather than wishing Trump would die.
"I was surprised because I don't think Dominic meant..." she said, "he's been in touch directly with me. He's been in touch to personally apologise to me. He wasn't aware Derek had had coronavirus and was still sick and was worried that I'd been upset by it.
"I wasn't upset, I was surprised. I don't think he meant that. I don't believe Dominic West would wish someone ill."
Last month, Kate revealed that Derek has lost nearly eight stone in weight since he first contracted coronavirus and went into hospital.
