Piers Morgan has criticised Lady Gaga's decision to delay the release of her forthcoming album amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Last week, the 'Stupid Love' singer announced she would push back the scheduled release date of Chromatica from April 10 to a later 2020 date due to the disease, which is currently spreading across the globe.

But, in a discussion on Good Morning Britain with Susanna Reid, who returned to television following her own self-isolation period on Tuesday (March 31), Piers seemed to knock that decision.

Live on air, the presenter openly lamented Lady Gaga's push back of the album, suggesting that honouring the original release date meant it would have been something for fans to enjoy in these challenging times.

And, Piers suggested, she may have even made it free.

"What a great opportunity to put the album out, give it to everybody," Piers said.

"Make it your gesture to the world right now: 'have a free [Lady] Gaga album at home'.

"Stream it to them. I just think entertainers... don't virtue signal."

Gaga previously gave fans a taste of Chromatic when she dropped 'Stupid Love', her first new single since A Star is Born, last month.

Good Morning Britain airs on weekdays from 6am-10am on ITV.
