'God Is Good': George Floyd's Girlfriend Reacts to Chauvin Guilty Verdict

Jurors returned a verdict of guilty on all three charges against former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, who was tried for the murder of 46-year-old George Floyd, on Tuesday, April 20, after less than 10 hours of deliberation.

Chauvin was found guilty on all three charges, including second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter for the killing of Floyd. The verdict was announced just after 4 pm on Tuesday afternoon at the Hennepin County Government Center.

This footage, captured by Brendan Gutenschwager in Minneapolis, shows Floyd’s girlfriend, Courteney Ross, reacting with tears after the verdict was announced. “I want to everyone to remember, whoever you pray to, whatever you believe in, God is good,” Ross says. “God proved that today.” Credit: Brendan Gutenschwager via Storyful
