Gogglebox: Celebrity Special - Who’s Taking Part?

In case you didn’t already know, tonight (Friday 9th October) sees a bunch of celebrities sitting on their own sofas and watching TV for a very special Celebrity Gogglebox in aid of Stand Up To Cancer.

If celebrities can sit on the sofa eating snacks and discussing Peter Andre’s dance moves, SO CAN WE.

Pass the popcorn, would ya?

After last year’s celeb special saw the likes of Naomi Campbell, Noel Gallagher and Kate Moss settling down for a cosy night in, Channel 4 are once again rolling out the red, er, sofa cover for a star-filled Gogglebox.

This year, Christian Grey himself, Jamie Dornan, will be sharing a sofa with Nick Frost (cue us trying desperately to listen to his actual TV commentary and not just stare at his perfectly bushy facial hair).

The fact that they’ve opted for beer and pizza for their TV night tells us they’re probably the PERFECT pair to watch Strictly Come Dancing, X Factor and Casualty with on a Saturday night.

Our living room door is always open boys (probably explains the breeze we’re always complaining about).

Boy George will also be appearing, inviting pals Geri Horner (nee Halliwell) and Marilyn round for an evening in front of the television, while Lee Mack will be getting square-eyed with his on-screen family, including Bobby Ball.

Dream teams having our dream evening? WHERE WAS OUR INVITE, EH?

If that wasn’t enough to be getting on with, Miranda Hart, who took part with co-stars Sarah Hadland and Tom Ellis last year, will be sharing her sofa with on-screen mum Patricia Hodge AND her real mum Diana this year.

N’awww.

Celebrity Gogglebox isn’t the only special programme being put on for Stand Up To Cancer, a joint campaign between Channel 4 and Cancer Research UK which ‘raises vital funds to support scientists working in NHS hospitals, cancer centres, universities and institutes, speeding up research to get treatments and tests to patients who so desperately need them’.

The channel will also show a special celebrity First Dates special, featuring Anthea Turner and Alexandra Burke.

As per last year, Alan Carr will bring invite a bunch of celebs along for a special Chatty Man, with Sue Perkins, Jonathan Ross, Made In Chelsea’s Jamie Laing and ‘This Is England’ actor Thomas Turgoose all joining him on the sofa.

Great TV for an amazing cause? Count us very much IN.
