Gogglebox star Dave Griffiths has been compared to Arnold Schwarzenegger by fans after he showed off his toned body on holiday. The Channel 4 TV star is currently on holiday with his co-star wife Shirley as well as his son Simon and his family.

The Caerphilly couple, who joined the Channel 4 show in 2015, jetted off to Dubai as the current series wound to a close last week. After stunning fans with a rare picture of their son - who fans branded 'hot' - Dave was next in line.

Dave, 67, was flooded with positive comments from fans after his wife shared a photo of him shirtless by the pool. He looked almost unrecognisable from his appearances on TV on the sofa.

And fans were wowed by his physique. The photo was humorously captioned: "He came from the depths of the sea to rescue the world seaweed man # gogglebox #dubai."

But fans were impressed by Dave's figure and took to the comments. "Shape like Arnie, voice like Pottsy lol," one joked.

A second commented: "Looking good Dave." And a third added: "Fine figure of a man!"

Just before they departed for Dubai, Dave and Shirley confirmed that they would be off-screens until September when the new series of the hit Channel 4 show will air.

Shirley addressed her followers saying: "Hi everyone don't forget to tune in tonight at 9pm, have a good weekend and enjoy the bank holiday. Lots of love, Shirl."

Shirley concluded her message by blowing a kiss towards the camera, whilst her partner Dave added: "Yes, sadly the last one tonight for the series so make sure you watch, all have a great summer. Oh and by the way, don't forget the voting for the NTAs (National Television Awards) has opened so if you can afford us a vote, Gogglebox, we'd appreciate it. Have a great summer, tara all, see you next time around."
