Gogglebox stars look unrecognisable in throwback snap from their 20s
Since its debut in 2013, Gogglebox has introduced us to a host of unforgettable characters. Sophie Sandiford and her brother Pete, along with the delightful Malone family and their charming dogs, have brought laughter and warmth into our homes through Channel 4's beloved show.
Among these cherished cast members are Mary Killen and Giles Wood, who became part of the Gogglebox family in 2015. Known for their eccentric home decor, sharp commentary, and hilarious banter, they've entertained us for nearly a decade.
However, fans were treated to a look at the couple's younger selves when a throwback photo from the '90s was posted on their Instagram in 2021, leaving them almost unrecognisable.

The picture shows Giles - who was born in Stoke-on-Trent - in a navy polo shirt and striped hat, nonchalantly holding a wine glass, while Mary is seen in a stylish black and white heart-print blouse topped with a sun hat, reports the Mirror.
The caption beneath this remarkable photo simply read: "Giles and Mary circa 1990.", The post was met with a flood of warm comments from their fanbase. One admirer exclaimed, "My absolute favourite people! ! ," while another added, "I just love them".
The beloved Gogglebox couple first crossed paths at the young age of 21. By that time, Giles had left North Staffordshire and family fireplace business, S.A. Wood and Sons, in Regent Road, Hanley, behind to hone his craft at Wimbledon Art School.
Fast forward to today, Giles, who attended the independent Shrewsbury School and lived in Keele, is acclaimed in the art world, and Mary has carved out a successful career in journalism.
The pair, who have become fan favourites on Gogglebox, opened up about their life beyond the screen. In an interview with the Daily Mail, Giles credited the show with playing a crucial role in their relationship, saying: "Working together on Gogglebox watching telly at the same time meant Mary and I suddenly no longer lived like two intimate strangers, Mary working from 6am till 8pm, then falling asleep slightly drunk at 9pm; me gardening from 1pm till 3.30pm, when I have lunch, and then going to bed at two in the morning after watching vintage horror films. It has definitely saved our marriage."
Mary shared her thoughts as well: "Gradually we realised we were enjoying the Gogglebox preambles indeed they became an essential cog in the wheels of our marriage because we had to take it in turns to speak. And then we realised that we had a huge amount in common."
