Gogglebox stars wish viewers a Merry Christmas as series 12 ends

Gogglebox aired its final episode of series 12 on Friday (December 14), and the stars of the Channel 4 show have sent off fans with an emotional goodbye.

Viewers will of course be getting a 'best of' special on Christmas Eve and only have to wait until February for the next series, but that didn't stop the nation's telly watchers getting all soppy on Twitter.

Sophie tweeted: "Can’t believe we are at the end of series 12 already it’s been an absolute blast to say the least. Me and @Petesandiford are so so grateful for all the support have a great Christmas and let the countdown to next series begin."

Lee and Jenny wrote: "Awhhhh noooooo it’s the last episode of #gogglebox tonight of series 12 hope your going to tune in at 9pm @Channel4 happy Friday goggleboxers merry Christmas.

"Just like to wish all our Gogglebox’s a happy Christmas and a very happy new year thank you for all the lovely tweets this year see you all in February."

While Ellie and Izzi added: "Last episode of #Gogglebox tonight for 2018! Hope you all enjoy it and we look forward to being back on your tellys in the new year! Merry Christmas all"

And, finally, the Siddiquis said: "Ahh sadly end of another amazing #Gogglebox series we hope you enjoyed each and every show can’t wait to be back in February meanwhile have fantastic festive season thank you for your support best wishes from Siddiquis."

Gogglebox's festive highlights air on Christmas Eve at 9pm on Channel 4, before the show returns for its next series in February.
