Gogglebox's Louis Michael heaps praise on Scarlett Moffatt following I'm A Celeb win

When it was announced that Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt would be heading into the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! jungle, it was widely reported that her Channel 4 castmates were fuming.

Sources suggested that there was “unrest” among the cast, with many feeling as though Scarlett was getting special treatment in a bid to launch herself as a fully fledged celebrity.

The fact that the Scarlett on I’m A Celeb never featured in the last three weeks of Gogglebox episodes also didn’t go unnoticed by viewers, with fans questioning why producers weren’t showing the families reacting to “one of their own” doing the Bushtucker Trials.

However, at least a few members of the Gogglebox cast harbour no ill feeling towards the Geordie Queen of the Jungle, with University student, Louis Michael, taking to Twitter last night to heap praise on Scarlett following her victory.

The TV star, who has a huge social media presence, gushed: “So I’ve just finished watching I’m a celebrity, buckle up guys because this is gonna be a long one.

“@ScarlettMoffatt you deserve every leaf on that jungle crown. Watching you in the jungle has touched my heart. You won over your fellow camp mates, and the rest of the country with your sincerity, your hilarity, and your compassion. Your REALNESS is so REFRESHING.

“And your lighthearted, joyful demeanour makes me (and the rest of the country) feel like we’ve been lifelong friends! That’s been the best thing about watching you in the jungle, getting to know you.

“Your sofa comments had me in stitches, but the jungle let us see so many new sides to you, each more charming and endearing than the last. The people close to you are lucky to have you in their lives.

“And I’m so grateful that you shared yourself with the rest of the nation over the last three weeks, it’s been a f***ing BALL. CONGRATULATIONS @ScarlettMoffatt THE NEWEST (AND GREATEST) QUEEN OF THE JUNGLE. LONG MAY SHE REIGN. [sic]”

Louis and his family have appeared in Gogglebox since the very first season although they were forced to disappear for a series after patriarch, Andrew, ran to be a UKIP MP.

Fellow Goggleboxer Eve Woerdenweber also shared her excitement at Scarlett’s victory, writing: “@ScarlettMoffatt well done! Words can’t express how happy we all are for you.”

If this lot are secretly bitter towards Scarlett then they’re incredibly good at hiding it!
