Gogglebox's Pete Sandiford says he 'can't quit day job' despite TV success
Gogglebox favourite Pete Sandiford has opened up about his life off-screen, revealing that he still works as a roofer despite his fame from the show.
The Blackpool lad, who appears on the programme alongside his sister Sophie, told The Sun that the £1,500 he earns each month from the show isn't enough to give up his day job. At a recent awards ceremony, Pete remarked: "We just saw Eammon Holmes.
"I am just a builder from Blackpool, so it is a bit strange when celebrities know us. I was on a roof yesterday."

When asked if he would consider leaving roofing behind, he responded: "I have got to pay my mortgage somehow."
It appears Gogglebox might remain his sole TV gig, as he expressed no desire to expand his television appearances. He stated: "No, nothing beats sitting on the sofa."
While Pete tends to keep his private life under wraps, fans were delighted when they caught a glimpse of his wife, Paige, last April. Sophie shared an Instagram photo of the couple at a wedding where Paige looked stunning in a plum silk midi dress, paired with gold heels and a matching clutch, her hair styled beautifully as she held a glass of Champagne, reports the Mirror.
The picture sparked a flurry of compliments from fans, with one exclaiming: "That's Pete's wife? ! " complete with a shocked emoji. Another fan mistook Paige for Pete's girlfriend, but upon learning she was his wife, commented: "She's gorgeous."
Others joined in praising her looks with remarks like: "She's stunning", and one playful comment read: "Nahhhh Pete is punching".
The loving couple are doting parents to their children, Eva Sylvie and Jimmy. Paige is not only a stunning beauty but also a vital lifeline to many in her role as an Emergency Service Call Handler.
Meanwhile, in last night's episode (October 11), Gogglebox co-star Izzi Warner shocked fans with a personal update about her love life on the show as she revealed she was single. Viewers had no idea the star, who features with sister Ellie, was no longer with her long-term boyfriend.
Izzi had been dating her boyfriend Grant for a number of years, first posting about him on social media back in 2014. The pair lived together in Leeds with their two children, a son called Bobby and a daughter called Bessie Rose.
Izzi revealed that they hadn't been together for 18 months: She explained what she was looking for in a new man on the show after being asked to write her 'Mary Poppins' list of what she would ideally want in a new partner by sister Ellie.
Izzi asked her sister:"My partner who is practically perfect in every way, do you want to hear it? It's quite extensive.
"I've separated it into essentials and nice-to-haves. So on the essentials we've got: hardworking, open-minded, kind, attractive, good with money, clean criminal record, zero drugs police/no drink problem, emotional intelligence, full head of hair, patient, discreet, loyal, supports my hobbies, wants to be my plus one.
"And then nice to haves: nice teeth, nice car, generous, good style, taller than me, cooks nice dinners. So hence why I've been single for the last 18 months."
