What’s going on with Scooter Braun, Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande?
Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato are both reportedly parting ways with their long-time manager, Scooter Braun.
According to Billboard, Ariana and Demi have left the manager and his company SB Projects, but reports that Justin Bieber has also split from Scooter have been denied.
The music mogul is best known for discovering Justin on YouTube when the singer was just 12-years-old and his dispute with Taylor Swift over her music's master recordings, causing her to re-record her older albums.
Ariana has been signed with Braun for her entire music career so far (that's over ten years!) and Demi joined up with Scooter in 2019.
At the time, Demi wrote on Instagram: "Dreams came true for me. I officially have a NEW MANAGER. And not just any manager but the one and only Scooter Braun. Couldn't be happier, inspired and excited to begin this next chapter. Thank you for believing in me and for being a part of this new journey."
Demi's split with Scooter has been described as "amicable" by Variety, with him even posting a birthday message to the singer on his Instagram story on 22nd August, writing “happy birthday to one of the kindest souls out there.”
According to a Billboard, it was just "time for Lovato to go in a new direction, even though she was thankful for her time with SB Projects."
Reports of Ariana and Demi's departures follows news last week that Justin Bieber, who first teamed up with Braun way back in 2008, was also seeking new management. But, representatives for both Justin and Scooter have since denied those rumours.
Scooter has previously made headlines for his dispute with Taylor Swift over the rights to the master recordings of her first six albums, which his company acquired and later sold. Since then, Taylor has re-recorded her albums in a bid to own them for herself, with the next re-release, 1989 (Taylor's Version), coming on 27th October (so soon!).
Scooter's current clients also include Black Eyed Peas, Ava Max, Tori Kelly, and more.
