Paul Whitehouse shares his extensive fishing experience with Bob Mortimer, who hunts out unique places to stay and creates heart-healthy menus for their travels.
Mortimer's healthy diet is particularly important to him as the show originally came about when Whitehouse decided to support his friend in recovering from triple heart bypass surgery by taking him on restorative fishing trips.
The star's heart problems were so serious that he got married in hospital before going into surgery and almost died the day after his operation.
The calming series has been so soothingly popular with viewers that a fifth series of six episodes has been confirmed to air later in 2022.

"We are delighted to have a further six episodes coming later this year to BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.”
The next series of six half-hour episodes will explore more of the UK’s beautiful countryside to seek out the finest fishing spots, with Mortimer and Whitehouse visiting various lakes, rivers and canals and meeting special guests old and new along the way to discuss issues that are close to their hearts.
Executive producer Lisa Clark said: “The love for the show continues to grow and Bob and Paul are thrilled to be back filming - with of course the new star of the show, terrier Ted.
"He cannot wait to join them once again to explore all the new sights and smells on offer.”
The previous four series of Gone Fishing are available to watch on iPlayer.
