Gemma Collins and Piers Morgan finally came face to face today on Good Morning Britain as The GC joined the show as an entertainment reporter.

The Dancing on Ice star took her new role very seriously, appearing alongside Richard Arnold in a cloud of smoke that then struggled to clear.

Unfortunately someone on the show made a big mistake with the strap line that appeared below her name on screen.

The title said that Gemma famously face-planted the floor as she danced to the Celine Dion song ‘My Heart Will Go On’.

However, the 38-year-old actually took a tumble when she showed her moves to the track ‘It’s All Coming Back To Me Now’.

But it appears Gemma wasn't aware, instead thanking Piers for his support of her throughout the competition, offering to get him a freebie holiday and buying him tickets to Celine’s concert in Hyde Park this summer.

“I was very emotional, thank you for all your support,” she said. “You are such a powerful voice, and for all the people who were saying I couldn’t do it, to have you saying I could meant so much.”

She added: “To be honest, when I came out the week before there was no smoke and mirrors, it was just me ice-skating. To go out there and concentrate on putting on a big performance and ice-skating is a lot. This week I’m so grateful for everybody for voting me back in.”

Speaking about the effect her trip had on her, she added: “I’ve been in agony, it wasn’t straight after the fall, it was two days later when the pain came out and the shock set in.

“It was my birthday last week and I didn’t do a thing, I was crying my eyes out. I was supposed to be going for dinner with my friends but I said I just couldn’t do it, that’s when it set in.”

Good Morning Britain is on ITV, weekdays from 6am.
