Meghan Markle’s half-sister Samantha slammed by Good Morning Britain viewers for ‘cashing in’ on royal romance

Good Morning Britain viewers have slammed Meghan Markle’s half-sister Samantha, accusing her of ‘cashing’ in on her stardom.

Samantha Markle appeared on Monday’s episode of the breakfast show to discuss a book she's writing about her relationship with her sibling, who is dating Prince Harry.

Viewers were quick to call her out on social media for piggybacking on her half-sister's success, branding her a ‘leech’ and a ‘money-grabber'.

One wrote: “Why on earth are you entertaining such drivel from someone who hasn’t spoken to her in years? Half-sister? What a money-grabber!”

Another tweeted: “Why is Meghan Markle’s half sister cashing in on her writing a book & speaking on @GMB. Disgraceful, disgusting shut ur mouth &respect family [sic]”.

Fans of the show were even less impressed when Samantha confirmed the title of her upcoming book would be The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister’, denying it would be a ‘tell-all’.

“Well, it is true that I'm writing a book and the title [The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister] is accurate, what is not true [is] this unbelievable swell that's been created that it's some sort of slamming ‘tell-all’”, she said.

One Twitter user commented: “’The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister’? Odd way to support family! #SamanthaMarkle – also @GMB her ‘ethnicity’ is not the end of the world!”.

Another posted: “She comes on to deny reports she called Meghan ‘princess pushy’ but confirms that’s the title of the book!? Got your number lady!”

Despite criticism from viewers Samantha was full of praise for her half-sister, calling her ‘charming’ and ‘lovely’.

She said: “She’s lovely. She’s very animated, very charming, very lively and no matter what I don’t believe that you can be a half-sister. Either you're sisters or you’re not. In my heart and in reality she’s my sister.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
