Piers Morgan found himself defending an epic make-up blunder during today's (April 1) edition of Good Morning Britain.

Addressing tweets from viewers who spoke "blending issues" with the coloration of his face, the presenter said: "I don't even know what that means, other than clearly this part of my head is orange, apparently this part is not..."

Making light of the situation, his colleague Susanna Reid pitched in: "Don't worry, it's not a symptom [of the coronavirus]..."

Piers continued: "I come in, I'm slapping this stuff on, I've no idea what I'm putting on or how to apply it, and in the general scheme of the problems of the world right now, my blending issues with my make-up are not that important, people!"

A side-by-side of Piers and Donald Trump was then brought up on screen, with Susanna adding: "You're turning into your friend, President Trump."

She then went on to deliver an explanation for Piers' poor make-up attempt, revealing that the show's "professional army of make-up and hair artists" were safely back at home in isolation.

Signing off on the subject, Piers declared: "If I've over-tangerined the tangerine dream, I can only apologise – for anyone who's offended by my orange head!"

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV.
