Yet more names have been added to the all-star cast of Good Omens, the long-awaited adaptation of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's comedy-cum-drama-cum-fantasy novel.

Joining the likes of David Tennant and Michael Sheen – who look amazing in their roles, by the way – are Sam Taylor Buck, Daniel Mays and Sian Brooke.

Sam Taylor Buck will be playing "the reluctant antichrist", while Line of Duty's Daniel Mays and Sherlock's Sian Brooke will play his parents. (Good luck, mum and dad.)

Unsurprisingly, both Daniel and Sian sound about as thrilled to be on board such a project as we are to hear they're taking part, with Daniel saying: "It's not every day you get to play the father of the antichrist!"

Tipping to the hat to American Gods' Gaiman, who's at the helm of the adaptation, he added: "The cast they've assembled are second to none. Can't wait to get cracking!"

Sian Brooke echoed her co-star's excitement, promising that Good Omens is going to be "fantastic" for all involved.

"It's certainly going to be an adventure playing the unknowing mother of the antichrist!" she added.

The upcoming six-part series is being adapted from the iconic novel Good Omens, which centres on two deities – played by Tennant and Sheen – as they try to stave off the oncoming apocalypse.

In an unexpected partnership, devilish Crowley (Tennant) and his heavenly counterpart Aziraphale (Sheen) work together to keep the Antichrist from bringing about the End Times.

Bring on the apocalypse is all we can say.

Good Omens will launch on Amazon Prime Video in 2019, and on BBC Two at a later date.
