Good Samaritan Helps Missouri Deputies Rescue 81-Year-Old Man From Icy Creek

Authorities in Missouri’s Clay County said a good Samaritan helped them to rescue an elderly man from an icy creek after he accidentally drove off a highway on November 17.

In a statement on Facebook, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office said a local man named Quintin Conway alerted authorities to the incident at around 12:30 pm, and attempted to pull the man from the vehicle before deputies arrived.

Bodycam footage released by Clay County Sheriff’s Office shows officers entering the creek and pulling the man to safety with the help of Conway. According to the sheriff’s office, it was 37 degrees out when the deputies were dispatched to the rescue. “The temperatures didn’t stop them from jumping in to help,” the sheriff’s office added.
