Good Wife's Archie Panjabi will lead ITV's Next of Kin
The Good Wife's Archie Panjabi and Pirates of the Caribbean's Jack Davenport will lead ITV's new family thriller Next of Kin.
The six-part series centres on GP Mona Shirani (Panjabi) who lives in London with her political lobbyist husband Guy Harcourt (Davenport) and finds her family life shattered when her brother is brutally murdered while working for a charity abroad.
His death brings buried secrets to light, leading to Mona's family finding itself under suspicion and drawn into a tangle of betrayal and conspiracy as they try to protect their loved ones.
Next of Kin was created by Indian Summers and Vera writer Paul Rutman in his first collaboration with his writer wife Natasha Narayan. It will be directed by Bleak House's Justin Chadwick.
"This is a highly relevant and important story in today's multicultural Britain, telling – from a domestic perspective – how a family can be ripped apart by events larger than themselves," Chadwick teased.

Filming starts on Next of Kin in April for four months across the UK and abroad.
ITV's Head of Drama Polly Hill enthused: "Telling an incredible important and pertinent story for our time, Next of Kin promises to grip audiences and explores one mother's very human dilemma to protect her loved ones."
It is the latest TV offering from Mammoth Screen, the company behind Sunday night hits Victoria and Poldark, Inspector Morse prequel Endeavour and Zadie Smith adaptation NW.
